Zero Carbon Pitch
For the past four years, Zero Carbon Pitch organised by Jockey Club CarbonCare Open Innovation Lab (JC COIL) has offered a platform for innovative low-carbon ideas to grow into feasible plans that contribute to climate actions in Hong Kong. Participating teams are divided into two categories: four InnoTeams incubated by JC COIL and four teams selected from an open public recruitment.
These teams will pitch for various funding awards totalling $115,000 to implement their solutions at both business and community levels. The judging panel will be formed by veterans and independent practitioners from multiple sectors. The public audience will be inspired by zero-carbon innovative solutions and witness the birth of the award winners.
Experience Sharing & Award Presentation
We are much honoured to have invited Mr Victor Tsang, Head of Create Hong Kong, Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the Government of the HKSAR and Miss Donna Tang, Executive Manager, Charities (Grant Making – Sports and Environment), The Hong Kong Jockey Club as our guests of honour for the event. Mr Victor Tsang, Miss Donna Tang as well as representatives from CarbonCare InnoLab and winning teams of Zero Carbon Pitch in previous cycles will share their experiences and insights with the audience. The sharing will be followed by an award presentation ceremony. Around 200 guests are expected to attend the event, including JC COIL’s individual and corporate members from various businesses and professions, impact investors, as well as representatives from charitable foundations, green startups, social enterprises, NGOs, the academia and the media.
“Inno Green Living Choices” Exhibition
An exhibition themed “Inno Green Living Choices” will be concurrently held at the venue, showcasing ways to lead a sustainable lifestyle. Exhibitors are all winners of previous Zero Carbon Pitch and they have implemented their proposals in real-life business. They are “Reconnect” (solar-powered WiFi sharing service), “Utentials” (reusable tableware and utensil rental service), “Plant Right Now” (first participatory guarantee system (PGS) in Hong Kong that lines up local organic farms and communities), “WeFill” (online market of eco-friendly products), “Infinergy Power Limited” (energy-efficient electrical appliances), “2HAND” (clothing consignment service) and “V Visionary” (sustainable fashion platform).
“Audience Popularity Award” Voting
The winning team of the "Audience Popularity Award" will be selected through public voting online and audience voting onsite. The ratio of online voting to audience voting is 3:7, which will be used to calculate the final total number of votes. Details of online voting have been posted on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/jc.coil. You are invited to cast your votes online from 30th August to 6th September before 12nn. Please vote for your favourite team now!
